informal letter

Dear Lee

I missed our enjoyable time that we had had with each other before. You asked me about my travelling for the summer. I have to tell you that I’m planning to go with my new girlfriend whose name is Sandra. We met each other 3 months ago and we get along with each other well. So we started to be prepared for the trip. It would be my appreciate if I can help your friend but I’m not looking for more information about her.

You wrote that you want to write a book about your experiences. It seems interesting and I eagerly want to read it. I want to tell you if you need any help, Sandra is a writer and she can help you. So make us informed if you want.

What has happened to your boyfriend? Are you alone or in a relationship? Is every thing goes well? I noticed that you are some how disappointed. I hope that I made a mistake. I am curious about your situation. Make me informed.

Good luck

My opinion about Katarina Borg’s tips for success

1st tip: You need to express your goals, and it’s best to express them in positive terms.

I approximately agree. Expressing goals in positive phrases helps reminding advantages of our activity and also it is a method for avoiding temptation. Also it can be a good motivation; when you see your written goals in positive sentences, it may reveal you benefits and results that is a good motivation for giving up.

Nevertheless, I think in some cases expressing goals in negative terms is the best; because such this sentences can reveal you destructive effects of your activity or inactivity and this make sufficient motivation especially in cases you should avoid doing something, for instance, smoking.

2nd tip: It’s important to make goals clear and specific.

I definitely agree. Making goals clear and specific helps you define your process. Expressing goals in terms of phrases is like designing the road of your achievement. Designing it without any signs and introductions causes you can’t understand where you are exactly now, and you are in the right direction or not. Also you may leave your way because of not seeing any result. By making them specific, you put signs into your road that helps you reach your destination and define where your current position is.

3rd tip: Set a target which is within your control.

If someone agrees with this idea, it means he disapproves of “Risk” concept. I think sometimes risking can result a big progress that is hard to imagine when you are about reaching that in routine ways. So I believe in some cases you don’t have even control on conditions, with a bit being optimist you can pass your way perfectly.

4th tip: You get better results when you set achievable, feasible goals.

I definitely agree, but I think there is a noticeable comment: What is the definition of achievable and feasible goal? It is all depends on personal beliefs. Sometimes you think your achievable goal is a thing that can be really hard to achieve. Hence, if you beat your personal best, you can achieve, so it’s achievable. On the other hand, you may know achievable goal as a goal that is reachable by normal and routine attempts.

5th tip: Be sincere.

It is one of the main factors of healthy personality. So not only in making goals, but also in whole parts of the life being sincere and defeating the conflicts is necessary in order to have a healthy mind.

Top tips

I agree with all her tips. About her fourth tip at first I thought she means that don’t think about goals which seem they aren’t achievable but then I understood she means don’t expect yourself to achieve the huge goal in short time. I remind this proverb that says you couldn’t pass the long way which takes long 100 years in one night. you should pass it step by step.
As you may have heard “everything is possible if you just believe it”, so don’t limit your dreams and let them fly wherever they like. By arranging a reasonable program and breaking them down into short-term goals you can reach them.

future plan

I’m looking for finding a part time job. One of my teachers suggests me to join them into a company that published auxiliary books for students to practice more. They will ask me to edit the books which is related to my field, math. I think I’ll accept it. Because it’s a team work with a group of students like myself. This work needs to be done very careful and have lots of attention. Each book will be taking long 3 months to edit and at the end of 3months each book will have been edited by 4 persons.
By the end of the project I’ll have got more experience and will have learnt lots of new things. Maybe one day it’ll help me to publish a book of my own.

Go for it !

I believe the first and basic step to achieve all goals is being conscious exactly what you want to achieve. You can't achieve your goals unless you pass the first step. I mean if you ignore it you will be confused and mixed up in the middle of the way. Also I must add that it's very useful to express your aims into positive words. By this tip you can control your temptation whenever it is necessary. After that you should pay attention to set a target which is on your control, this point is more obvious in group works such as a competition. In fact you are aware about your own abilities and don’t have enough information about the others and participants' abilities. So you can just talk and think about yourself and it's better to just try hardly and do your best instead of thinking about win.
As you see I do agree with the counselor "Katarina Borg" about 3 tips which I mentioned, but I'm against her in this case that we must set our targets according to our abilities. In my opinion every person will be born with some particular abilities and talents which inherently exist in some ones personality, however It is possible for every person to grow and increase them by learning, practice,…So you shouldn’t be concerned about the abilities you don’t have, because you can achieve them with attempts and trying for several times.
The other point which is useful to know is picturing your favorites in order to choose your goals and don’t think about the others expectations, in this way you will have enough motivation to continue.
Finally be careful about setting opposing objects. In fact when you decide to achieve an object you may have to ignore some of your interests, it depends on you which of them are on the preference, so don’t set goals which are in conflict with each other. I hope you will be succeed by fallowing these tips.

A plan for future

I aim to get P.h.D degree in math. If I pass the entrance exam that will hold on May five , I hope to be a P.h.D student in October. But there isn`t a solitary entrance exam that I have to pass it. When I`ll be successful in the first exam, I`ll be getting ready for some interviews during a short period of time. I`m uneasy about them because I don`t know what they`ll be asking me in the interviews. If I manage the interviews then they`ll ask me to study in their collage and after that they plan to give them my language certificate. When I get P.h.D degree, I prefer to go abroad and find job in a foreign university. I debt, I can`t find any practical vocation in my own country. All of our professors say that finding job in every country is easier than Iran. I set out to go Malezia and live there but every things that you think about that and try to get it, you can`t be sure that you`ll have it. You just try and hope for god`s help.
